This Weekend in South Florida: October 16–18

This is one of those South Florida weekends where the calendar does the planning for you. Friday and Saturday belong to Wynwood, where III Points takes over five city blocks. Saturday night brings Latin music's biggest arena party to downtown Miami, while Fort Lauderdale stacks a free art fair, a free fall festival, and a film-festival spotlight into a single day. Sunday slows down beautifully — a history bike ride in Coral Gables, a family Halloween afternoon in Miami Beach, and a free sunset concert on Ocean Drive.

Below are eight verified picks for Friday, October 16 through Sunday, October 18, 2026, organized by day, with the full date, city, price, and official link for each one. Prices and schedules were checked against official festival, venue, and organizer pages this week — still confirm tickets before you head out, because the biggest events on this list do sell out.

Friday, October 16

1. III Points — Opening Night, Wynwood, Miami

Miami's homegrown festival returns to Mana Wynwood for two nights, Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17. The official site lists 13 stages across five city blocks and a lineup the festival counts in the hundreds of artists, spanning electronic, hip-hop, indie, and global sounds, with satellite programming in venues around the city. Doors are listed at 4 p.m. on the ticketing page. This is the weekend's big-ticket, stay-out-late anchor — best for festival people who want one plan that fills the whole night. There is no on-site parking listed for Mana Wynwood, and the festival names a rideshare partner on its site, so plan a drop-off instead of circling Wynwood.

Mana Wynwood, 2217 NW 5th Ave, Miami · Fri–Sat, October 16–17, 2026 · Tickets listed at $179–$599 on the official site · III Points official site and tickets.

Saturday, October 17

2. iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina — Kaseya Center, Miami

Latin music takes over downtown Miami on Saturday night. The 2026 Fiesta Latina bill, per iHeartRadio, is led by Anuel AA and Myke Towers, with Farruko, Manuel Turizo, Eladio Carrión, FloyyMenor, Greeicy, and Alleh also performing, hosted by Enrique Santos. The night also honors Lin-Manuel Miranda with the 2026 iHeartRadio Corazón Latino Award. Tickets were sold to the public exclusively through Ticketmaster, per iHeart — use that official channel and expect arena pricing and downtown game-night traffic around the Kaseya Center. Best for: a one-night, big-production concert instead of a festival commitment.

3. 39th Annual Las Olas Art Fair — Fort Lauderdale

The easiest yes on this list: a free, juried outdoor art fair along Las Olas Boulevard, running Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Organizer Howard Alan Events runs the fair, and local listings put the footprint at about 200 artists with work you can buy, commission, and talk to the makers about. Go early for easier parking and cooler browsing, then use the boulevard's cafés and restaurants for lunch. One real-world warning: East Las Olas Boulevard closes from SE 6th Avenue to SE 11th Avenue from early Saturday through Sunday night for the fair, so pick a garage off the boulevard instead of driving into the closure.

740 E Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale · Sat–Sun, October 17–18, 2026, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. · Free admission; parking fees apply · Las Olas Art Fair on ArtFestival.com.

4. Riverwalk Fall Festival — Esplanade Park, Fort Lauderdale

A few minutes west of the art fair, Riverwalk's fall festival is the family pick for Saturday afternoon: food vendors, pumpkin painting and pumpkin bowling, sand art, vendor displays, and DJ entertainment in Esplanade Park, with demonstrations from the Museum of Discovery and Science listed on the event page. Entry is free; individual activities and food are paid, and pets are welcome per the listing. Best for: families who want a fall afternoon without a ticket, and anyone pairing it with Las Olas in the morning for a full Fort Lauderdale day.

Esplanade Park, 400 SW Second Street, Fort Lauderdale · Saturday, October 17, 2026, 12–4 p.m. · Free entry; activity and parking fees apply · Riverwalk Fall Festival details.

5. OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival — Spotlight Films, Fort Lauderdale

OUTshine's Fall Edition runs October 15–25 across Broward and Miami-Dade, and Saturday night is a headline slot: the Men's and Ladies' Spotlight Films screen at 7:15 p.m. at Paradigm Cinemas: Gateway in Fort Lauderdale, with an afterparty following at a nearby restaurant, per the festival. The fall program overall brings premieres from 20 countries, plus panels and special events. Best for: film lovers who want a premiere-night crowd, not a multiplex Saturday. Check the festival site for the individual film titles, runtimes, and ticket options before you go.

Paradigm Cinemas: Gateway, 1820 E Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale · Saturday, October 17, 2026, 7:15 p.m. · Ticketed; see festival site for prices · OUTshine Film Festival official site.

Bonus Saturday morning: Hot Girl Walk — Fort Lauderdale Beach

Want the weekend to start with movement instead of a ticket line? The Fort Lauderdale Hot Girl Walk meets across from Bo's Beach for a free, three-mile community walk built around gratitude, goals, and confidence. Check-in starts at 9:30 a.m., the walk runs about an hour, and all ages and genders are welcome per the organizer. Register free on Eventbrite so organizers have a count.

700 Seabreeze Blvd, Fort Lauderdale · Saturday, October 17, 2026, 9:30–11:30 a.m. · Free · Hot Girl Walk Fort Lauderdale on Eventbrite.

Sunday, October 18

6. A Gables Bike Tour — Coral Gables Museum

Sunday's smartest two hours. This guided ride, presented by Bike Walk Coral Gables with the Coral Gables Museum, rolls through Pinewood Cemetery for a history-focused spin through the city's oldest burial ground, starting at the museum. Museum admission is included in the ticket, and riders bring their own bikes. Best for: history buffs, Gables locals who have driven past Pinewood for years, and anyone who likes a tour with a real subject. Arrive a little early to check in at the museum.

Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Ave, Coral Gables · Sunday, October 18, 2026, 10 a.m.–12 p.m. · $10; $5 for museum members and children under 12 · Coral Gables Magazine October events guide.

7. Howl-O-Ween at the Wolf — Wolfsonian-FIU, Miami Beach

A free, family Halloween afternoon inside one of Miami Beach's best museums. The program, inspired by the museum's current shoe exhibition, includes interactive story time, a craft activity, bingo for prizes, costumed figure drawing, and sweet treats, plus a library open house. It is multigenerational by design — bring kids in costume, stay for the museum itself, and you are a short walk from the Ocean Drive concert that closes the weekend. Best for: families who want Halloween fun in daylight, without a scare house.

Wolfsonian-FIU, 1001 Washington Ave, Miami Beach · Sunday, October 18, 2026, 1–4 p.m. · Free · Howl-O-Ween and Miami Halloween event details.

8. Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series — Lummus Park, Miami Beach

End the weekend the Miami Beach way: a free, open-air concert on the Lummus Park lawn in front of The Betsy Hotel. Sunday's performer is Miami native guitarist Johnny Walker, in the weekly series slot from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Bring a picnic, lawn chairs, or a blanket, per the series listing; if the weather turns, the concert moves inside The Betsy's lobby. Best for: an easy, no-ticket sunset plan — dinner on Ocean Drive or Lincoln Road afterward is right there.

Lummus Park, 14th Place and Ocean Drive, Miami Beach · Sunday, October 18, 2026, 6–7:30 p.m. · Free · Ocean Drive Promenade Series event listing.

How we chose

Every pick had to clear the same bar: it happens on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday of this weekend — October 16, 17, or 18, 2026 — in Miami-Dade or Broward, with a date, place, and price we could verify on an official festival, venue, organizer, or ticketing page. We balanced the list on purpose: two big-ticket music nights, two free Fort Lauderdale daytime festivals, a film-festival spotlight, a free morning walk, and three Sunday plans that cost $10 or nothing. If an event could not be verified for this weekend, it did not make the guide — including a very tempting seafood festival that actually starts next week, October 21–24.

Weekend pro tips

Pick a lane on Saturday. Fort Lauderdale gives you a full free day — walk at 9:30 a.m., art fair from 10 a.m., fall festival at noon, film spotlight at 7:15 p.m. — while Miami stacks III Points and Fiesta Latina at night. Trying to do both cities after dark means I-95 at the worst hour. Buy the ticketed nights now. III Points lists prices up to $599 and single days from $179 on its official site, and Fiesta Latina is a one-night arena show. Respect the Las Olas closure. Park off the boulevard and walk in. Bring the basics. Sunscreen and water for the daytime fairs, a blanket for Lummus Park, and your own bike for the Gables tour.
